A fun contemporary dance class with plenty of opportunity for performance and creativity. Although contemporary based, dance styles and music from around the world are often incorporated into the dance. Movement games and props encourage choreographic exploration and the opportunity to share in the creative process of dance making. There is no uniform (although appropriate dance attire should be worn) and children are gently encouraged to participate. This class is currently combined with the 10-13 year old group.
This Term we shall be working towards a short performance incorporating movement inspired by birds and bird murmurations at the Take Part Festival Launch on 22nd June. There will be two costume making workshops after the dance classes on Saturdays 8th and 15th June from 12 -1 pm at Hanover Community Centre. After the Take Part performance there will be a two week break before the final session on Saturday 13th July of pure creative dance fun!
